Acabo de darme cuenta de que no saqué foto de la manta entera! Qué cabeza! Por suerte sí saqué fotos de los detalles!

I just realised I did not take a display photo of the blanket! Luckily, I did do it in detail!

Se escucha por ahí que lo que damos vuelve a nosotros, verdad? Pues sí! Es cierto! Anoche recibí un happy email de Heather Jones, el espíritu creativo detrás de Olive and Ollie. He ganado una suscripción por tres meses a Creative Bug para mí y para una amiga! Hurra!

It is said that what you give you shall receive, isn't it? Well, it's true! Last night I got a happy email from Heather Jones, the alma mater of Olive and Ollie. I won a three month subscription to Creative Bug. For me and for a friend! Hurray!

Creative Bug es una página web de clases online. Hay miles de proyectos y técnicas para aprender a hacer desde quilts a gorros, decoración de ambientes e ikebana. Puedes comprar las clases por separado o suscribirte y usar ese tiempo en todas las clases que quieras. Mmmmm estoy saltando de alegría!

Creative Bug is a virtual learning centre. There are thousands of classes to pick from. You can learn how to quilt, crochet or knit, or maybe ikebana! You can purchase the classes separately or subscribe and get access to all the classes! Whoooo! I am making a happy dance!

Hace un par de días recibí mi primer paquete de Marmalade Fabrics. Una de las bloggeras que sigo mencionó que se había apuntado a un Club de Telas a traves de esta tienda online. No pude resistirme y allí fui. Y me enamoré.

A couple of days ago I received my first package of fabric from Marmalade Fabrics. One of the bloggers I follow mentioned that she had signes up for a Stash Club at MF and I could not resist the temptation. I jumped in and I fell in love.

Tammy es la dueña de Marmalade Fabrics. Tuvimos varias conversaciones relacionadas con el costo-beneficio de cada uno de sus packs. Y se ofreció a enviarmelos cada dos meses, para ahorrar en correo. Solución ideal para mí.

Tammy is the owner of Marmalade Fabrics. We exchanged several emails about the cost of shipping for the different pacos she offers and finally she agreed on sending mine once every two months, to save on shipping. The perfect solution for me.

Los packs vienen agrupados en Fat Quarters por colores. Se llaman Around the Color Wheel. Una delicia para los ojos. Y en dos clases: estampados y lisos. La forma perfecta de ir armando tu propio arco iris en el estudio de costura.

The packs come as Fat Quarters Bundles in different color palettes. They are called Around the Color Wheel. Yummy! And they also come as Prints or Solids. The perfect Stash Builder. A rainbow in your sewing room.


En otro orden de cosas, desde Sew Mama Sew nos invitan una vez más a una de las mejores semana del año: La semana de sorteos más popular de la web!  Y este año participo en ella! A lovely year of finishes. Start-of-month-post

Ha pasado un mes casi desde mi última publicación! La vida se ha metido en mi cuarto de costura - centro de entropía - agujero negro creativo. Algún día, tal vez, le saque una foto y me anime a compartirlo!

It´s been almost a month since the last time I published something. Life got in my sewing room - entropy center - creative black hole. May be some day I take a photo of it and share it with you all!

Para este mes he de acabar la manta de una bebé que nació la semana pasada. Su mamá eligió la combinación de colores. Quería rosa, morado y turquesa. Me encanta esa gama en los bebés. Aproveché que Rachel de Stitched in Color estaba haciendo un QAL y seguí su tutorial. Más info aquí.

My goal for this month is to finish up a patchwork blanket for a baby that was born last week. Her mum chose the color palette for Anne. She asked for Pink, Purple and Aqua. I love that palette in babies. Rachel de Stitched in Color was hosting a QAL and I jumped in. I followed her tutorial. More info here.

La trasera será una manta que la tía de Anne le regaló. Es de Minkee. Ya sabemos que es un poco arriesgado pero valdrá la pena. La acolcharé siguiendo las líneas de costura. Y le haré una doble línea en los bordes. Espero que esto tenga sentido. Postearé fotos detalladas a final de mes.

The backing is a Minkee blanket that was given to me by Anne´s aunt. We know sewing with Minkee is a bit risky but totally worth it. I am going to use Stitch in the Ditch quilitng and add a double stitch line in the borders. I hope this makes sense. I will post detailed pics at the end of the month.
